It was great serving you
When I first came to Orange County about 6 years ago I stumbled upon a great coffee place. No not Starbucks, not the Coffee Bean, but a place with a little more character, originality. The coffee was good and the atmosphere refreshing. No more green and white, but red tones and yellow hughes filled the room. It was a nice place, to read, to write, to meet other people, to grab the occasional bagel or maybe just to go and sit. Something any of us rarely ever do anymore, just sit. I even had nick names for the different locations, one of which wasn’t very PC, but the nicknames caught on and others would often refer to each coffee house by the nick names I came up with.
Two Summers ago, my friend came to visit from the Bay Area and I took her to my special coffee place. She was absolutely obsessed with their Mayan mocha and thought it was the best coffee she had ever tasted! This coming from a girl that used to work at Starbucks who appreciated a good quality coffee because APPAREANTLY she was deprived of it and it said something to me, this place really is that great.
Ironically enough, every morning on my way to work I suck it up and stop at Bucks to get my morning Jo, it’s only on the weekends I can actually make the longer trip to my special coffee place. But if I would have known that I wouldn’t have more time with my special coffee place maybe I would have made that longer trip every morning, maybe I would have bought up ten bags of coffee and hoarded them in my freezer. Maybe, just maybe I could have stopped it all!! But no, unfortunately not even I can take on the “Evil Empire”.
Now, sadly, in the window, a handwritten sign says, "Thank you for your loyalty. It was great serving you." In other words, my sloppy second, Bucks, has bought out my special coffee place. And it really sucks.
Bucks Sucks.
